When I did the math on all of the Obama plans, it made my stomach a little queasy. I’m not sure if Congress will fully get behind him on all of his grand plans (if Obama is elected and if the Democrats take a majority lead), but if they do I am not looking forward to being an arts administrator. This administration does not look to be small-business (or any business, for that matter) friendly.

I’m not so great with a shovel. I’ll just have to rely on the history and arts projects for my minimum wage job when we could have ALL been doing great things as mini entrepreneurs.

It’s been said however that being ‘a little Socialist’ (aka -Lite) is like being ‘a little pregnant’.

I wish everyone in America could read that within the next 4 days. Particularly that last paragraph.

I too an an entrepreneur… the business I’m personally invested in qualifies (on paper) as on of those ‘5% of the richest corporations in America’ because our gross revenues are (well) above that arbitrary $250K threshold. Problem is that right now things are tough… a 10% increase in corporate tax will probably be enough to do us in and put 30+ people out of work. Well at least I’ll be able to take solace in the fact that the Government will be growing and creating jobs building roads and bridges…. I guess I need to brush up on my shovel skills….

My main gripes with Palin are policy related. I hate all of this “change” rhetoric and yes, I know Obama started it. All of the candidates always want to position themselves as the “people’s” candidate for “change” when the reality is that it’s kind of impossible to pull a New Deal anymore…what are she and McCain seriously going to do about the “boys club” in Washington?? Veto every bill and then try to introduce new bills to a congress that they have both verbally attacked? Brilliant Republican strategy though, first by picking up on Palin and then by stealing Obama’s “change” fire. That person should be running for president lol. Surprised they didn’t nominate themselves like Cheaney.

Like I said before, ‘You used to be different and now you’re the same’

Those basic tenants of Christ’s message…..Love God, Love your neighbor…are the fundamentals we need to follow. All other “rules” laid down by man/women in organized churches don’t necessarily save our soul because if we don’t live the two great commandments, we aren’t true christians.

BTW, I think Sarah is a cool lady. You have to be a mom to understand that what her almost-adult kids do is not a reflection of how good a mom she is or how she will run a country. I can only make that judgment on HER behavior and I am not sure I want a Mavrick and a Baracudda running our country!

What a long strange trip it’s been… wait that sounds like a song…

Yet I somehow I feel more peaceful than I ever have. I also feel more alive and spiritually connected to the world than I ever have before. I see Yahweh, the Most High in just about everything that I do and everywhere I go. In the teachings of Rabbis, in the music of anarchist punk bands searching for meaning, in the poetry of Pablo Neruda detailing the beauty of falling in love…God truly is everywhere.
